    Dell inspiron n4010 not charging
When I plug in charge the white light turns on for like 5 seconds and the light goes off. It’s not charging at all. I tried taking the battery out and holding the power button. I get nothing other than the flash of light. Can anyone help me out??

Please follow the below steps which may fix the issue:

      1. The first step which I would recommend is to remove the power cable and the battery. Hold the power button down for 15-20 seconds and then put the battery and the adapter back in and start the computer. Check if it works.

      2. Please check the jack on the AC Adapter for any damage.

      3. Have you tried with a good known AC Adapter?

      4. Look for a green light on the A/C adapter or a blue light on the connector that connects to the computer.

If still the issue persists, restart the computer and the moment it starts start tapping the F2 key to boot the computer to BIOS where you would be able to find AC Adapter Type under : Main Menu”., Let me know the status (None, Unknown or Shows the power). Press F9 to reset the BIOS to factory default.

I would also suggest you to update latest version of system BIOS

    Hello, I am using an Inspiron 14R (n4010) laptop. It has an i3-390m CPU, 2x2GB ddr3 (1333mhz, 1.5v) and an intel integrated graphics. Current motherboard model number DA0UM8MB6E0 rev.E. Power supply is 65 W (19.5V, 3.34 A).

I want to upgrade the laptop’s motherboard and ram. The intended motherboard model number is DAUMBCMB8C0 rev.C, which has ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5650m (1gb gpu ram). I will upgrade the ram to 8Gb (2x4GB ddr3, 1333mhz, 1.5v).

I want to ask if the existing power supply (65W) will be sufficient for the upgraded parts? if not, what should be the suitable power?

The Dell Inspiron N4010 uses a 65-watt AC adapter for Integrated video and a 90-watt AC adapter for discrete video

You will need to upgrade the Adapter to 90w
